Headstand Workshop with Monisha Raja

The headstand is known as the “King of Asanas” since it has profound psychic, physical, and psychological benefits including strengthening the circulatory and respiratory systems, increasing melatonin production and oxygen supply to the brain.

This workshop is an ideal follow-up to the one held last month, if you have been practicing the steps and would like to advance.

If you did not attend or have not practiced, we will begin with preliminary postures to build strength, stability and balance to help safely move step-by-step into this inversion. Emphasis is on alignment and individual attention.

If you already have a headstand practice, you will learn variations and attempt Vrschikasana, the scorpion pose.
This workshop is suitable for those with a regular yoga practice. All levels are welcome.

CAUTION: Please do not practice headstand if you have high blood pressure, glaucoma or recent surgery, cervical injury, cold / sinus congestion, or in the first few days of your menstrual cycle.
