The Broome Street Ganesha Temple is a non-profit 501c3 religious corporation and is maintained and run through donations, festivals sponsorships, and volunteers. We are raising $250,000 for the 2024 calendar year to maintain the temple as a sacred space open to the public, with daily puja, aratis, special festivals, and cultural connection.
Where will your money be spent?
Yearly rent: $174,000
Yearly priest dakshina: $27,000
Yearly cleaning and caretaking: $15,840
Marketing, social media and communication: $18,000
Insurance, repairs, and temple beautification: $15,160
The temple runs on a conservative and slim budget. The temple director is a volunteer role, and daily donations pay for flowers, prasad, and temple improvements. The $250,000 we seek to raise will be specifically and only spent on the above, necessary expenses.
A temple is a community undertaking, we cannot do it alone; it is only by community participation that we can grow this small temple into a blossoming sanctuary of Hinduism and worship in NYC!
