Broome Street Ganesha Temple Garba Night is back for our 5th year and bigger than ever! Kick off festival season with a night of energetic music, nonstop dancing, and community.
Our event will feature DJ Magic Mike and some of the city’s best desi food vendors — Fontainhaus, Brooklyn Curry Project, Madras Dosa Co, Desi Galli, and Malai Ice Cream — plus lots of chai to keep the evening going.
After the joy and rhythm of Garba, we’ll close the evening in sacred stillness. Join us for a meditation to ground and integrate. We suggest bringing a blanket or shawl to sit or lie down on.
Our Navratri Garba Festival includes a dance lesson, garba, raas, and Aarti.
3:00 – 5:00pm: Warm-up and Garba
5:00 – 6:00pm: Dandiya Instruction and Raas
6:00 – 6:30pm: Aarti
6:30 – 8:30pm: High Energy Garba
8:30 – 9:00pm: Meditation and Closing
Please note that 3-6 PM is our sweet spot for families and children, with a relaxed pace and plenty of room to twirl. After 6 PM, things pick up in tempo and energy as the night crowd takes over the floor.
Navratri Garba is a kid friendly event! Free entry for children ages 3 & under.
All proceeds will go toward the Broome Street Ganesha Temple.
