In honor of the birthday day of Lord Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, we will gather for Krishna Janmashtami and the Gita Parayana, a devotional recitation of the entire Bhagavad Gita, chapters 1 through 18.
Sri Krishna Janmashtami is one of the most auspicious festivals in the Hindu calendar, celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna. The Bhagavad Gita is the timeless teaching Krishna gave to Arjuna, and reciting it in full on his appearance day is a beautiful way to honor him and receive his blessings. The chanting takes approximately three hours, and you are warmly welcome to attend for the entire parayana or to come for whatever time you are able. Please feel free to bring a copy of the Gita to follow along.
