Job Title: Temple Associate

Job Type: Full-Time | Flexible Hours
Compensation: $18-21 / hour
The Broome Street Ganesha Temple is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Temple Associate to join our team. The Temple Associate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanctity of the temple, caring for the deities and temple materials, and providing a warm and welcoming experience for all guests. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of devotion, excellent attention to detail, and a friendly demeanor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Temple Maintenance:
- Perform daily cleaning of the temple premises, including sweeping, mopping and dusting.
- Ensure the temple and puja materials are kept neat and orderly, including brass plates, towels, kitchen materials etc.
- Assist in maintaining the overall aesthetic and spiritual ambiance of the temple.
- Guest Services:
- Greet and welcome visitors and devotees with warmth and respect.
- Provide information about temple services, rituals, and events to guests.
- Assist with crowd management during special events, ceremonies, and festivals.
- Additional Duties:
- Assist in setting up for and cleaning up after temple events and activities.
- Work collaboratively with other temple staff and volunteers to ensure smooth operation of temple functions.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the temple management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a similar role or in a customer service position is an advantage.
- Strong sense of devotion and respect for religious practices and beliefs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
