A unique class for children aged 3.5 – 6 years that combines Yoga, Storytelling, Music and Movement. The focus is on developing children’s Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and social connectedness. Each class is centered around a theme, interwoven by an enjoyable story, and results in a child engaging in creative movement and learning yoga. Games and partner work are included to make the class fun, interactive, and exciting. Every class ends with a key takeaway, which can be implemented in a child’s day-to-day life.

Developmental Objectives
:

  • Teaches persistence, patience, and discipline.
  • Encourages creativity and imagination.


Physical Objectives
:

  • Relaxes the nervous system through breathing techniques and creative visualization.
  • Enhances fine and gross motor skills through creative activities.
  • Develops flexibility, muscle tone, and balance through a variety of yoga poses.

About Shereena Master
Shereena started her Children’s Yoga Through Storytelling program to encourage the love of movement and yoga while teaching essential skills that can be used throughout a child’s life. Movement is a way of life for Shereena. She is a dancer and yoga teacher, having danced with The Shiamak Davar Dance Company in Mumbai and studied with Eddie Stern in New York City.

She has worked with:

  • The Cathedral & John Connon School, Mumbai – developing their fitness and dance program
  • The Gateway School, Mumbai – teaching sensory skills through movement for special needs children
  • The Jai Vakeel Foundation, Mumbai – curating an interactive sensory development program for physically challenged young people
